As the leading Chinese supplier of Chinese foodstuffs and with over 35 years of business in Birmingham, Wing Yip was very fortunate to have been asked to contribute to the book. The Wing Yip story reflects the growing popularity of Chinese food in the United Kingdom.

Best Information Security Manager 2005 – Secure Computing Magazine (28th Jun 2005)
Tony Ritson, Wing Yip’s IT Manager is the proud winner of Secure Computing Magazine’s Best Information Security Manager of the Year award for 2005. The SC Magazine Excellence Awards Europe are Tony beat off strong competition from the other finalists from Cable & Wireless and Royal Dutch Shell. SC Magazine say " His "belt and braces" approach has ensured that no single point of failure can disrupt the smooth running of Wing Yip’s daily operations. His pragmatic, risk-based approach to security should serve as a role model for other small to medium sized businesses."

Living Genius (20th May 2005)
Wing Yip are proud to have been one of the Birmingham businesses featured in Living Genius, a Central TV production which was broadcast in December 2004. The series was presented by Sir Digby Jones, Director-General of the CBI, a longtime supporter of the West Midlands. Wing Yip were chosen to participate in the series because of our long association with Birmingham and we are proud of our contribution to Birmingham’s continuing success.

Wing Yip Commercials (8th Apr 2005)
Wing Yip’s new prime-time commercial was broadcast on ITV in the West Midlands and Greater Manchester area in February and March 2005. The commercials helped to raise the growing profile of the company and the Birmingham and Manchester stores. Wing Yip have long been an advertiser on the popular Chinese television channel, TVB.

International Food Exhibition 2005 (31st Mar 2005)
Wing Yip exhibited at the International Food Exhibition at Exel, London in March 2005. Our stand in the form of our trademark Arch added a touch of Oriental style to the event and the Wing Yip team was extremely happy with the response from visitors to the exhibition who had come from all over the world.

Wing Yip Bursaries – 2004 (27th Jan 2005)
The fifth annual Wing Yip & Brothers Bursaries were held in London in January 2005. The Guest of Honour was His Excellency Ambassador Zha Peixin of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China. The presentation was attended by many supporters, friends and family of the Bursaries and the awardees. In total, 32 bursaries were awarded to students studying in the United Kingdom, in a wide range of fields. Wing Yip is grateful for the support it has enjoyed over the years in the setting up and running of the bursaries.

BBC Good Food Show (28th Nov 2004)
Wing Yip exhibited at the BBC Good Food Show at the NEC, Birmingham in November 2004. Our stand and our free samples of Wing Yip sauces proved extremely popular with visitors who purchased hundreds of bottles of Wing Yip sauce over the course of the exhibition.
