5 tbsp self raising flour
3 tbsp caster sugar
1 medium egg
3 tbsp water
3 1/2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tsp vanilla extract
Whisk all ingredients together in a bowl and ensure there are no lumps.
Put all of the mixture into a mug and ensure that it does not fill more than half of the mug.
Place on a piece of kitchen paper in the microwave and cook for 1min45secs for a 950w microwave. Cooking times may vary depending on the power of your microwave.
Insert a skewer and ensure that the cake is cooked all the way through. Let stand for 1 minute before serving.
Serving Suggestion: For a chocolate cake, replace 2 tbsp of flour with cocoa powder
